Ripple Relish and Hub Grub Jam Project
Winter is now underway, the long nights are with us once again and Spring seems so far away. However an exciting new project is starting at The Ripple in the New Year, funded by an Awards for All grant from the Big Lottery and we are looking for volunteers to drive this forward.
The Ripple Relish and Hub Grub Jam Project is a small social enterprise making jams, chutneys and relishes. We are hoping to attract individuals who are interested in being part of a Project Team to develop this idea by sharing recipes and cooking with delicious seasonal produce. We also need ideas and help with the branding, packaging, promotion and distribution of the goods.
There is something deeply satisfying about making homemade produce, the smells, the colours and delicious flavours all captured in a jar!
The idea came from the Hub Grub cafés membership with The Cyrenians’ Fareshare programme which redistributes excess food from supermarkets and local businesses to reduce food waste. The volunteers and staff thought this new venture would be a creative and tasty way to use the excess foods.

We made some lovely chilli jam, pickled red cabbage and lemon curd.
