From dish washing to walk leading, from cake baking to our Management Board, The Ripple wouldn’t be the organisation it is today without the drive and enthusiasm of local people volunteering to provide a wide range of groups, activities and events.

Volunteers join us every day to help run our cafe, bake bread and cakes, make soup, run our lunch club, Friday club, walking group, knitting group, computer group and all the other activities that are going on in the centre.

Community Cafe :
We are looking for people with a warm and friendly manner who are interested in working with and meeting new people from all areas of this community. Although no special skills are required for general posts prior to starting the following is essential;
Volunteers must be able to work independently and unsupervised over often busy and demanding periods.
Volunteers must be able to follow and adhere to Food Standards Agency good practice and observe strict hygiene codes as directed by the Café co-ordinator.
Early bird Cafe general volunteers - one day a week, Monday to Friday 9am to 11.30am to set up the counter and serve coffee and cake to our early birds.
General kitchen volunteers - Fridays - 10am to 2pm dish washing and some food prep. Training given - more info
Cook - Wednesdays, 9am to 1pm - a confident cook to make from scratch a wide variety of dishes.
