The Ripple is a community organisation and registered charity established in 1996. Started by local people the Ripple harnesses the skills and enthusiasm of its dedicated volunteers to provide a wide range of well-used services in our community of Restalrig, Lochend & Craigentinny. Much of these areas are amongst the most deprived in Scotland and our community faces the challenges that poverty, health and social inequalities bring.
The key to all that we do is the involvement of our wonderful team of volunteers of all ages and abilities who alongside our small staff team contribute so much to making life here better for everyone. Many project users have gone on to become volunteers and provide the help for others that they found here themselves – for us that is the true impact of the Ripple effect.
The Ripple Project is extremely grateful for the funding it receives. Key funders include The City of Edinburgh Council, Cashback for Communities, Craigentinny and Duddingston NP, Bank of Scotland Foundation, The Big Lottery, Kristofferson Carpets, National Lottery, The Robertson Trust and Spirit 2012.
