Children, Young People and Families

Co-ordinator: Danielle Ward

The Ripple offers local children & young people aged 6-18yrs a varied programme of play, activities and educational opportunities designed to encourage, develop & reinforce their skills and self image in a safe and supportive environment.  We take a family centred approach to our youth work that includes providing assistance with challenges our families are facing.

2022 Highlights
We had a great time on Friday on our trip to Innoflate in Livingston then Saturday night in the Ripple with the SCRAN van, Edinburgh Leisure team doing a fitness session, football, table tennis, quizzes and more. Big thanks to Innoflate, Edinburgh Leisure, Edinburgh Police North East, Community Alcohol Partnership and the SCRAN team.

Highlights from our 7 week programme during the school holidays, we organised a wide range of activities and day trips. Many thanks to City of Edinburgh Council, Youth Link Scotland, Mental Health Foundation and Thrive for making the summer programme dream come true for our young people.

RIPPLE YOUTH SERVICES DURING THE PANDEMIC

Have a look at how our youth work service responded to the pandemic, putting young people and their needs at the heart of our work.

The Ripple received Generation CashBack support from Youth Scotland, through advice, staff training and equipment. This enabled the shift to an outreach approach, to trial online engagement, and to continue to reach a broad range of young people, particularly during the challenges of Covid-19 - read the case studies.
